To ensure the responsible spending of state and federal funds and the associated delivery of high quality information technology solutions to its customer base the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has established a Project Management Methodology (PMM) for its Division of Information Resource Management (DIRM).
The methodology is a comprehensive set of processes, tools, and templates that guides project managers (and their project teams) in the initiation, planning, execution, controlling, and closing of a project.
The foundation of the PMM is based on the best practices and guidelines from the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge ( PMI's PMBOK) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and integrates the specific business sections (and associated processes) of the DIRM organization and the NC Office of Information Technology Services.
